CV<\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_row_inner row_type=“row“ type=“full_width“ text_align=“left“ css_animation=““][vc_column_inner width=“2\/3″][vc_column_text]Helene von Bismarck wurde in Br\u00fcssel als Kind deutscher Eltern geboren und wuchs in Russland, Deutschland und Belgien auf. Nach ihrem europ\u00e4ischen Baccalaureat und einem Sabbatical in Italien studierte sie Geschichte und Politik an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit\u00e4t in M\u00fcnchen und der Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t zu Berlin. Seit 2004 ist sie ein sehr h\u00e4ufiger Gast im Vereinigten K\u00f6nigreich, wo sie in den National Archives in Kew bei London forscht, an Konferenzen teilnimmt und ihre Arbeit in den britischen Medien einbringt.<\/p>\n

Von 2006 bis 2007 arbeitete Helene von Bismarck als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Lehrstuhl f\u00fcr Westeurop\u00e4ische Geschichte der Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t. Danach gewann sie ein Graduiertenstipendium der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. 2011 wurde sie an der Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t magna cum laude promoviert.<\/p>\n

Ihr erstes Buch<\/a>, eine Monographie mit dem Titel Conceptions of Informal Empire: British Policy in the Persian Gulf, 1961-1968<\/em> erschien 2013 in englischer Sprache bei Palgrave Macmillan. 2019 erschien eine kurze Geschichte der britisch-deutschen K\u00f6nigswinter Konferenzen.<\/p>\n

2015 bis 2022 war sie Mitglied des Vorstands der British Scholar Society<\/a><\/em> , eine gemeinn\u00fctzige internationale Organisation von Historikern, die sich mit Gro\u00dfbritanniens Rolle in der Welt befassen. Im Februar 2018 wurde Helene von Bismarck in Anerkennung ihres Beitrags zur historischen Forschung von der Royal Historical Society<\/em> zum Fellow (F.R.Hist.S.) ernannt. Seit 2021 ist sie Visiting Research Fellow am Centre for British Politics and Government des King’s College<\/em> in London. Im selben Jahr wurde Mitglied des European Security Advisory Boards am Royal United Services Institute (RUSI)<\/em>. Im November 2023 wurde sie vom RUSI<\/em> zum Senior Associate Fellow ernannt.<\/p>\n

Helene von Bismarcks Essays<\/a> zur britischen Au\u00dfen- und Sicherheitspolitik, dem Brexit, dem Populismus, den deutsch-britischen Beziehungen, der deutschen Au\u00dfenpolitik, der Dekolonisation, der Persischen Golfregion und der Rolle von Geschichte und Erinnerung in den internationalen Beziehungen wurden u.a. von Foreign Policy, The Guardian, The Times Red Box, Financial Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, <\/em>Die Zeit, Republik Magazin, <\/em>und dem Tagesspiegel <\/em>ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Sie hat auch Kommentare und Artikel f\u00fcr Thinktanks und akademische Institute wie die K\u00f6rber-Stiftung<\/em>, History & Policy<\/em>, das Imperial and Global Forum<\/em>, The UK in a Changing EU<\/em> und die Britain and the World<\/em> verfasst.<\/p>\n

Helene von Bismarck kommentiert h\u00e4ufig die internationalen Beziehungen in Radio und Fernsehen. Sie arbeitet regelm\u00e4\u00dfig f\u00fcr die Weekend Show<\/em> des BBC World Service<\/em> als Kommentatorin, und ist vom Deutschlandfunk, BBC Radio Four und Channel Four News interviewt worden. Sie hat Podcasts mit der K\u00f6rber-Stiftung und der Chatham House Undercurrent Series aufgenommen. Sie hatte Fernsehauftritte beim ZDF, der Deutschen Welle, den BBC World News und Channel Four News.<\/p>\n

Ihre Vortragst\u00e4tigkeit<\/a> hat sie nach Gro\u00dfbritannien, Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien, in die USA, die T\u00fcrkei und die Tschechische Republik gef\u00fchrt, und sich u.a. an das Cabinet Office und Chatham House in London und die Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft in Berlin gerichtet.<\/p>\n

Helene von Bismarck hat verschiedene internationale Stipendien gewonnen. Das US National History Center lud sie 2010 ein, als eine von f\u00fcnfzehn jungen Historikern aus der ganzen Welt den Sommer am John W. Kluge Center der Library of Congress in Washington DC zu verbringen, und an einem von der Andrew W. Mellon-Stiftung finanzierten Forschungsseminar zum Thema Dekolonisation teilzunehmen. 2013 erm\u00f6glichte ihr ein Reisestipendium der Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR) einen weiteren Forschungsaufenthalt in Washington DC. Sie hat als peer-reviewer f\u00fcr das das Journal of Imperial and Commonwealth Studies<\/em>, das American Historical Journal<\/em> und Diplomacy and Statecraft<\/em> gearbeitet.<\/p>\n

Helene von Bismarck hat zahlreiche Reisen durch Europa, Nord- und Mittelamerika und den Nahen Osten unternommen. Sie spricht Deutsch, Englisch, Franz\u00f6sisch und Italienisch.
